The Special Projects Division was set up in 2005 to satisfy the need to systematically deal with the development of experimental “new initiatives”, characterised by three dimensions: interregional and international actions, new application fields for the Board, integration between the enterprise divisions.

Therefore, institutional projects have been set up involving integration with the other enterprise divisions (RLIS, Labour policies, Observatory) and actions that cover new areas (e.g. migratory flow management). Furthermore the partnership networks have been strengthened among national boards and European institutions working in the labour field.

Special attention is paid to the link between the Veneto regional area and other regional areas interested in enterprise and worker mobility processes, in particular, the extension of the EU to ex-soviet block countries. Within this, in line with the new plans for European structural funds (objective 3), the projects developed by Veneto Lavoro could be a valid support to the role of the Veneto Regional Council in developing political and institutional actions in favour of enterprises and institutions in the Balkan area.

  • The Division’s activities can be divided in three fields of action:  European Network for Employment: development of the partnership and technical assistance in the field of  transnational labour market.
  • International work mobility an Migration Flows : migration flows management  and polices for the economic migration.
  • Institutional building: Twinning

Institutional activities mainly involve developing partnerships with boards and institutions at national and international level, aimed at improving the information flow between labour markets and transferring best practice. The technical assistance is also very important in favour of certain foreign administrations, which look after the labour market, by transferring know-how in terms of organising labour services.
