In this setting, the Unit for strategic development contributes

• to update steering documents
• to coordinate the activities in school as for pupils with non Swedish background
• to create and in all municipal activities anchor a structurally oriented conception of integration, where the basis is the core values of democracy, legislations of Human Rights, professionalism and humanism, and where labour market orientation (the so called job line) is one of many dimensions
• to a continuous method development, such as the development of family oriented  work in social service, school and in the prevention of so called honour related threats; intercultural education; handling family and generation dilemmas and conflicts by help of peoples’ own cultural and symbolic framework and identity
• to develop and ameliorate the municipality’s contacts with citizens of Uppsala city, with  civil society and with the NGOs and immigrant organisations.
